What is 20 mg precision? Is it a typo? In general, lowering the dose of one medication is not as dangerous as double the dose. However, for certain long acting drugs, taking half of the pill will negate the long acting effect.

If there was a typo and the medication is a steroid called Prednisone, a tapering sch may be written by your physician. If you have no symptoms currently, please discuss a tapering schedule.
