I had chest x-ray done and it says diffuse accentuation of peribronchovascular markings. what does it mean? i am a smoker and the x-ray were done just for a check up?

A very common reading which seems consistent with your history of smoking. Even a relatively benign CXR finding but it does show your lungs have been affected by smoking. You should stop smoking ASAP.
