You're not sharing the needle and syringe, which is sterile. One per person, then discarded. Many medications come in multi-dose vials. This is nothing new.

In some locations, the pharmacist draws up the COVID vaccine doses in advance and the filled syringes are carried to each station. Having drawn each vaccine as needed in our immunization clinic, this is a safe procedure and the procedure used on the vaccine received by many doctors and nurses.

Currently, the vaccine is only available as mti-dose vial. However, there are strict guidelines that must be followed when using multiple dose vials for any vaccine. These guidelines are strict to ensure the first and last doses from any particular vial are just as effective and safe. No need to worry - the procedures used are there to keep vaccines safe and effective!

Each "draw" is done with a new sterile disposable needle/syringe. Needle/syringe units are not reused. There are protocols that insure a sterile environment.
