A kidney stone can certainly cause those symptoms, especially one that is large and partially obstructing part of the urinary system. Please be sure to follow up with your doctor/urologist for possible further treatment and a workup to figure out what is causing the stone(s).

It can cause infection, bleeding, or kidney damage. If the involved ureter is not completely blocked, the urine is backed up to the kidney which causes kidney damage with high urine output. If the involved ureter is completely blocked, the other kidney still works and compensates for the other. Either urinary tract infection or incomplete ureteral blockage can present as frequency.
