A member asked:

What is the ideal weight for icsi and to what extent weight affects icsi's opportunity of success?. if it affects, what to do to lose weight before icsi?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"ICSI" (intra-cytoplasmic sperm insemination) does not have an "ideal weight", but excessive weight can inhibit the extraction of ova needed on which to perform ICSI (laparoscopy may be difficult in the retrieval process), and if embryo transfer is successful, the ensuing pregnancy may be safer if maternal weight was reduced prior to potential pregnancy.
