How dangerous is kidney amyloidosis? my doctor told me that ive got that condition and there is no treatment other than regular check ups, monitoring blood pressure-to ensure condition is stable- whats th life expectancy with kidney amyloidosis?

Amyloidosis of the Kidney can be secondary to many kinds of diseases or primary. You need to be investigated at a major medical center which specializes in this condition and only then can an answer be given re. prognosis.

Newer treatments for amyloid are being tried. There is more than one type of amyloid and amyloid due to immunoglobulin disorders are more treatable. You should consult both a nephrologist and a hematologist. Wish you good health!
