Controlling BP is the mainstay of the treatment for chronic kidney disease. If you were taking BP med(s) in the past I have no doubt that your BP is high at this time. PMD often makes an error when advising patient to hold BP med when the kidney function results get worse, especially if patient takes ACEi or ARB med. Your BP has to be less than 130/80 or lower if you have heavy proteinuria.

Check BP both arms use highest one. At your age the L arm artery can get narrowed by rust & give a false low reading. The best way to control BP in Stage 3 in some is to lower salt intake. So you may have done this. Get the Chronometer app & check you Na/K intake to get to goal your Neph recommends. Check BP each AM for a few days. REst 5 min, take 3, average last 2. Have device checked by Dr.
