A member asked:

If left shift neutrophils are reported but no sign of infection i read this may be leukemia. since march i have other cbc done due to high ferritin, 1st cbc reports left shift, next few all normal,23/06 left shift. in leukemia would it be intermitten?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if left shift is the only abnormality noted, it is not a cause for concern. Wish you good health!
