This may be simple iron deficiency from chronic menstrual blood loss through the years depleting your iron stores. In this case you would also have to test for gi lesions. The peripheral blood red cell indices showing a mirocytic, hypochromic pattern & A high iron binding capacity would be diagnostic of iron deficiency anemia. I hope you have a hematologist involved to direct your testing&care.

If cancer is the cause of severe anemia, bone marrow biopsy should be positive. However, it is not in your case when bone marrow biopsy is done to look for the cause of anemia because the most common causes such as iron or B12 deficiency were ruled out. Viral infection such as Parvo virus and bone marrow disease can cause severe anemia. Please discuss with your primary doctor and hematologist.
