Microscopic tears from overuse or overstretch cause the tendinosis. For the healing tendon fibers to heal and reorganize, you will need to add eccentric strengthening exercises. Rest alone will fail to result in recovery. A physical therapist or personal trainer can show you how to perform these correctly if you need additional guidance.

Achilles tendinitis problems can be very difficult to resolve. You mentioned an increase in exercise this is probably the cause of your problem. Wearing backless shoes has nothing to do with your problem. Strengthening and stretching are very important. physical therapist can be very helpful and beneficial in resolving pain and discomfort as well as putting you on a preventative program
