Segmental innervation refers to the distribution or tracing of the innervation of body regions to the spinal cord segment or segments from which each receives its motor and sensory nerve supply. These nerves are attached to a segment of the spine. Segmental innervation can be mapped through stimulation of the nerve at the spinal segment.
