A member asked:

If i had a colonoscopy 4 years ago and not a thing was found how likely i would have colon cancer now ? no one in family has had it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The usual lag time for development of colon cancer is 10 years, however, that is an average and variations do occur. You could monitor your colon by doing yearly FIT test to detect bleeding in stool. It would be prudent to repeat the colonoscopy in ten years. Visit this site for info: https://www.cdc.gov/cancer/colorectal/basic_info/screening/tests.htm Wish you good health!
