My gi found a tva through a colonoscopy. i was 20, now 22, and do have a family history of colon cancer. how often should i redo the colonoscopy?

Every5'llKeepUAlive: If I read the guidelines correctly, in your case, every 5 years. But you should really verify this with the doctor who is following you because there may be special circumstances in your case that would indicate the need for more (or less) frequent surveillance compared with the general recommendations and guidelines. This assumes no problems like bleeding or changes in bowel habits.

Repeat in 3 yrs.: Adenomas of bowel are divided into 1) tubular, 2) tubulovillous, and 3) villous. #2 encountered in 8-16% of cases. Dysplasia not infrequent and therefore, what was found ? Of the adenomas of bowel less than 5% as associated with carcinoma and considering age, an initial evaluation q3yrs would suffice and then spread out the following years. Eventual stool test will detect tumor protein .
