Growth plates closed: At age 23 your growth plates about the knee are closed. High tibial osteotomy in young adults is relatively uncommon and not a benign procedure. Discuss the surgery and post- op regimen w/ your surgeon. If u are not satisfied get a second opinion about both your knees. Best of Luck!

I had a tibial tubercle osteotomy and MPFL reconstruction surgery in my right knee 7 weeks ago. after 7 weeks post op, while walking it feels like my kneecap is getting stuck and i have to push it back down to walk further. Is this normal ?
MRI shows I tore ACL, lateral meniscus root, MCL, and small impaction fracture of lateral tibial plateau. Won't see a surgeon for another week. Is it safe to walk around with a brace with no crutches or will it make my knee worse?
