The data I have seen associate this with the Pfizer not the Maderna vaccines. The issue is rate and it is not clear whether this has a cause/effect or just a chance association. I'd worry less about the vaccine than covid, depending on the virus activity rate in your area.

This should be discussed with your cardiologist, but a history of "carditis" does not provide a contraindication for vaccination. Indeed, as has been expressed, do realize that COVID-19 risk of severe vascular problems affecting heart or brain is much higher than a rare vaccine rxtn. Would urge you to choose wisely and get proactive prevention.

The data indicates that this is a rare less than 20/ million adverse reaction, and please review with your PCP. Most cases if they occur are after the second dose, and your PCP may suggest one dose and testing for antibodies.

Myocarditis is a well known complication of COVID infection which can be difficult to treat without inpatient care and supportive drug therapy. Myocarditis is a very rare complication of COVID vaccine and is in our experience, much less severe than the infection related myocarditis. Given the rates of infection in your area, I would want protection against the more severe variety.
