A 45-year-old male asked:

I went to a cardiologist for a pericarditis or myocarditis diagnoses caused by the pfizer covid 19 vaccine, but the dr wants to do a stress test first, is this correct. shouldn't a chest x-ray & blood tests be done?

The cardiologist probably knows what s/he is talking about. If uncertain, s/he is the person to ask: you'll probably get a good explanation. nobody without detailed knowlege of the case can give such advice. Good luck.

A stress test is not usually considered when there is pericarditis. It may not be safe if there is myocarditis. Please raise these questions with your physician and consider a second opinion if you are not satisfied with the reasons. Detailed examination, an ECG and a chest x-ray appear to be reasonable. Please discuss in full with your doctor.
