Assuming you have been well the past eight years, you have been at risk for pericarditis all that time. COVID vaccine isn't likely to result in pericarditis. COVID vaccine is very rarely associated with myocarditis (inflammation of heart muscle) which is much more severe and difficult to treat when associated with a COVID infection. An ounce of protection (vaccine) is a good thing.
