At least you are feeling better. Antidepressant needs months to have the full effect with gradually increased dose as tolerated. Usually, doctor will not change antidepressant but he (she) will add a second medication if the first one is partially effective. We usually change antidepressant because of significant adverse effect(s) or the medication does not work. Psychotherapy may be helpful.

It is best to discuss medication with your Psychiatrist who knows your medical history for a thorough evaluation and recommendations for treatment. If you are not confident with your Doctor please see another for a 2nd opinion. Have a physical exam to rule out illness and see a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in multiple forms of psychotherapy .
