Treatment : Weight gain is a known side effect or remeron (mirtazapine). Many options exist for treating depression An effective treatment needs to relieve symptoms, restore functional ability and not impose a heavy side effect burden. Unless other alternatives have proven ineffective consideration should be given to changing treatment.

Many options to try: There are many treatments for depression including antidepressant. Though they have all been shown to have effect, each has different side effects. Speak to the doctor. For example: it may be advisable to change medication regimen and/or to add a form of therapy to your treatment plan. You & your doctor are best suited to review your individual situation and decide together how to proceed.
