I take 10mg of escitalopram every morning at 10am. i am out and forgot my medication, so i won't be able to take it until around 5:30 or 6 tonight. should i take it as soon as i get home at 5:30 or skip today and wait for my 10am dose tomorrow?

I would recommend that you take your dose today as soon as it is possible. The least amount of time between doses is very important so that you do not have a reaction to the missed dose. After this, try to take your medicine at approximately the same time each day.

The half-life of Lexapro is about 30 hours, so if you have taken it for about one week, it has reached a relatively steady state in your blood, so missing a half day is not a big deal. Take the dose as soon as you get your refill and the get back on your regular schedule.
