Sinusitis appears likely among others. A focused exam and detailed history would be recommended with your doc or a local urgent care in order to assess for treatment with antibiotics and/or steroids.

The thick mucus is blocking the canal from the Eustachian tube that drain to the back of your throat. Saline nasal lavage may help open it up and loosen the thick mucus. Netipot is good. They are over the counter.

Inflammation in your nose and sinuses is likely responsible for your hearing problem, not the other way around. Try steam inhalation to clear out the mucus. If that does not help, it would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably an ENT doctor. Wish you good health!
