A member asked:

The 'finding' on us "increased parenchymal echogenicity w/out focal mass lesion." the impression states: "echodense liver consistent w/ diffuse hepatocellular disease." is it more likely simple fatty liver, another type of fatty liver, or cirrhosis?

We need more history of your medical problem.... e.g. why did you have the liver ultrasound done? You need a medical examination by a PCP/Internist. We need to know if your liver is enlarged on physical exam? Liver function tests should also be done and if abnormal, you may need further testing including a MRI scan and possibly a needle biopsy of the liver.

The information you provided suggests more than a fatty liver. It would be prudent to see a liver specialist as you will likely need additional tests. Wish you good health!
