Why are my lungs producing so much mucus? i have had a productive cough for about three weeks, but also have to clear my throat very often to clear the mucus out of my throat. already had covid two months ago?

It may be that the mucus is not coming from your lungs, but from post nasal drip from your sinuses. Try warm saline nasal washes to clear out the debris, mucus and any bacteria from your nasopharynx and sinuses. You can also try a decongestant to help drain those areas.

Post COVID 19 infection, mucus production may reflect inflammation in the lungs. I agree that post nasal drip should be addressed. If you have mucus, please discuss a culture, follow up COVID-19 screening and avoid smoke and common allergens.
