A 12 day steroid course with tapered dose is slightly long but not excessive for the treatment of viral induced inflammation, either due to Covid-19 or non Covid-19 infection. Home Covid antigen test has low sensitivity, i.e. high false negative result.

Continue to self isolate, re test for COVID 19 PCR is recommended. Drink fluids, rest, monitor temperature and breathing. Watch for shortness of breath and discuss the use of steroids after PCR testing.
