My dad, 53 felt dizzy with chest pain on sunday. went to doctors, blood pressure and blood sugar, pulse, ekg, ct scan came back normal. today, tuesday hes still complaining about chest pain. why? whats wrong?

Your father needs follow up with his primary care doc, other conditions not as easy to diagnose, such as paroxysmal arrhythmias or thrombembolic event will have to be considered among others. Most commonly chest pain is caused by musculoskeletal issues, pain is usually reproducible by palpation.

I would have admitted him to the hospital &monitored him for at least 24 hours. An EKG can be normal with an incipient heart attack(acute coronary insufficiency or preinfarction angina). If after 24 hours no further EKG changes or cardiac enzymes abnormalities are present, a decision about doing a treadmill stress test or coronary angiogram can be made. Take him back to the emergency room.
