I would have admitted him to the hospital &monitored him for at least 24 hours. An EKG can be normal with an incipient heart attack(acute coronary insufficiency or preinfarction angina). If after 24 hours no further EKG changes or cardiac enzymes abnormalities are present, a decision about doing a treadmill stress test or coronary angiogram can be made. Take him back to the emergency room.
