The temporomandibular joint is near the ear, and some people hear it click. No direct connection to the visual pathways from the TMJ, so vision loss would have a different cause. Hearing loss also should be evaluated, since combined vision and hearing loss (dual sensory impairment) can have other causes, independent of the TMJ disease.
