Can tmj disc displacement cause hearing loss?

Some dentists feel that TMJ dysfunction could potentially cause tinnitus, but not so clearcut in my opinion, BUT, there is absolutely no evidence of secondary hearing loss from jaw problems solely.

I have specialized in the treatment of TMJ disorders and have treated thousands of patient over the past 30 years. It is very common for my TMJ patients to report hearing loss; although, when the hearing is tested they test normal. Ear symptoms are very common with TMJ patients due to the dysfunction of the trigeminal innervated tensor tympani and tensor palatine muscles direct affect on the ear
