Er this morning, fever, very weak, dr.drained sebaceous cyst & packed it. now taking clindamycin &cefdinir both300mg 2x day. should i use ice or heat packs or both? when is it safe to shower? er docs very busy tonite.hope for no allergic reactions?

Ice not recommended for infections as it impedes necessary blood flow. If your drain is doing it's job you shouldn't have to apply heat to bring the infection to a head. You would have to put protective plastic over the infection site in order to shower. Will your physician or a surgeon provide follow-up advice and care?

Taking Cefdinir and Clindamycin for infected cyst. ER visit today with hives. Dr. said no Clindamycin. Gave me Prednisone 60mg, one dose tomorrow, also Benadryl 25mg for 5 days. Im concerned that Cefdinir is all I can tolerate, surgery 5/11?
