I had a simple excision of epidermoid cyst today. how long should the redness fade and infection? i go back to doc on monday for a recheck. i hope it doesnt need anymore procedures cause had it drained a week ago then drained & excision today. thanx?

Infected cyst : Was the pathology report benign? Was the cyst infected before excision? Was the pus cultured to identify the organism and sensitivity to certain antibiotics in case they're needed? Is a drain in place? It appears that the infection and redness still has a way to go as the site is still infected if pus was still draining today. Your surgeon can advise you best.
