I'm having an mri (lower back) and i have a gel powder overlay on my nails. i can sand the polish off before the scan but i'm scared to take the nails off because my natural nail beds are in really bad condition. will i be ok in the mri?

If you weren’t told to sand the polish off, I can’t think of a reason why. There is no reason to remove the nails unless they are metal ( which I doubt).
