Last night and into this morning i have had pretty intense chest pain along with bradycardia. my resting hr is around 65, and last night my hr was around 40. this morning my hr wont go above 60, having chest pains, & palpitations. should i go to er?

Severe chest pain requires prompt evaluation in the local ER or at an Urgent Care as life threatening conditions may be involved. Most frequently such conditions are ruled out and followup in the office becomes critical to find the actual source for the symptoms.

Please get an appointment with your regular physician. If examination shows no evidence of structural heart disease, a Holter monitor may be helpful to further investigate the variability in your heart rate. I hope this is helpful. Emergency room evaluation may not be helpful in resolving the question about your variable heart rate.
