Many health professionals use surgical masks for unlimited amounts of time with no adverse effects. Make sure that you change the mask at least daily, and wash your face once mask use is completed for the day so that your skin can be refreshed and cleaned of bacteria. If you notice a rash developing where the mask rubs, apply vaseline to this area.
