A member asked:

Would a kn95 and a 3 play surgical grade mask be enough to protect against covid-19?

Maybe. The mask must be worn properly and sanitized periodically if exposed. These were developed for short term (minutes to hours) use, not 24/7 masking. There are concerns that the omicron variant may bypass all common 3 ply surgical masks and may get past the 95.

We think so. But best to avoid folks who might have COVID019 and get vaccinated. And always practice DDD = Death Defying Distancing if you must go out into the world. And encourage others to do the same.

Seem's that nothing's foolproof. Covid 19 molecule is exceptionally small, and masking isn't 100%. It doesn't come near the protection of the vaccines. Best to be prudent. Good thing is that Omicron is extremely contagious, but of low virulence with low morbidity/mortality, and may have already peaked. Todays hospital admissions are almost exclusively among the unvaccinated with or without masks.

It will help but is not foolproof. Get vaccinated and boosted. Vaccine provides the best protection.
