A member asked:

A unvaccinated friend her unvaccinated sister spent 12 hours in a hospital with a family member who had surgery not covid related since all were 6ft or less with masks on, should she be away from her mother who has health issues for few days?

Presumably your hospital, like my hospital, screens all who enter and turns away those who do not pass. If true for your hospital you should feel totally safe. Since all in your situation wore masks and kept social distance, you should have nothing to fear. Of course be aware that if you live in a vaccine/Covid denial state, you might have to use some caution.

Consider COVID-19 vaccination for your mom and close contacts. If the visitors develop symptoms on the next 14 days, they should be screened and inform you.
