Before running up steep hill i take a very deep breath to get oxygen to my lungs however it is very polluted. would this have a significant increase in the amount of pollution i was exposed to? will it go straight into my organs?

Air pollution exposure may be increased by increasing your ventilation rate during running. A loose fitting mask may be worn during exercise to reduce this exposure. Running in more open spaces is another option.
