A member asked:

My melanoma in situ was just surgically removed to test margins. what are the chances that it could be upstaged?

Unfortunately, there is really no way to know if the melanoma stage will change-that is why it is removed surgically to test the margins, size and depth. I know it is really difficult waiting for results but hopefully your doctor will see you very soon and let you know what the treatment plan is going to be, if you need more treatment besides removal. I truly wish you all the best!!
