On bactrim for prostatitis. my gp just drew labs&did a ua. ua clear. labs ok, excp my psa was 5.94. ct w iodine iv contrast of abd and pelvic, no findings 4 abd pain nov 7th. prostatitis raise psa? 51yo male. never had issues w prostate before?

For sure prostatitis causes high PSA level. You need to take antibiotic for at least 3 weeks for this condition. Bactrim can cause or exacerbate kidney problem if taking more than one week so your doctor needs to check your kidney function after 10 days to play safe.

I would consider treatment with Cipro for 6 weeks and stay hydrated.
