Hi dr. would a 2-1-1 (on demand) prep, in which 2 tabs of truvada before sex exposure and 1 tab for next 2 days after exposure, increase the window period for 4th gen hiv test? if yes then when would be the best period for conclusive testing? thanks?

CDC guidelines for PrEP and HIV testing in high risk patients is as follows: Daily PrEP medication use (1 tablet daily) and HIV testing every 3 months. It is not enough to use the PrEP formulation as you have described. If you are having high risk sex, use IV drugs or other high risk behaviors, you should be tested every 3 months.
