The antigen-antibody (AgAb, "4th generation") HIV blood tests are conclusive by 45 days (which some experts round off to 6 weeks). Usually they are accurate from 4 weeks on. It clearly is never necessary to go beyond 45 days, and 7 weeks therefore is always conclusive. But why does it matter so much? If uncertain, just have a test beyond 45 days. No big deal, right?
