Are there potentially dangerous side effects of long-term usage of hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg) daily for blood pressure? i have been taking one capsule daily for around 2 years now. thank you?

Hydrochlorothiazide is a commonly prescribed diuretic (water pill) medication for high blood pressure. It is generally considered safe to use long term. It would be important to have routine monitoring of your kidney function and electrolytes, particularly sodium and potassium while on this medication.
