I am on amlodipine for my blood pressure and my doctor prescribe me different medicine hydrochlorothiazide cause i have swelling on my ankle, 2 weeks now am taking and my swelling are gone, now experiencing stomach discomfort do i need to stop taking?

The combination of amlodipine 5 or 10 mgs daily combined with low dose.hydrochlorothiazide is quite effective for most patients with hypertension & the ankle edema that can occur from amlodopine alone. I've not encountered stomach intolerance with these medications. Try taking medication with food in your stomach. BP of 130/80 or lower is good. If not improved, ask your physician for instructions.
