Is stopping hydrochlorothiazide suddenly dangerous? my other blood pressure pills warn to not stop them suddenly or there could be bad side effects. is it the same for hydrochlorothiazide?

I : I don't think that stopping it suddenly is dangerous. Other medications such as beta blockers should not be discontinued immediately if you have been on them for a long period of time due to potential rebound from beta blocker withdrawal that can lead to elevated blood pressures and heart rates. Other medications can also sometimes cause rebound hypertension with rapid withdrawal, but a diuretic such as hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) should not be dangerous.
