Will the plastic surgeon be able to complete excise my melanoma in situ on top of my tibia bone with carbocaine instead of lidocaine. i cant take epinephrine?

most likely....may be a bit more bleeding, b but I'm fairly certain that any capable surgeon can deal with such conditions. Always can address this concern to him.

mepivacaine (Carbocaine) is a local anesthetic for dentistry. Its quick and lasts longer than lidocaine. For longer medical procedures surgeons use bupivicaine. All 3 can be mixed with epinephrine (adrenaline) to decrease blood flow to the area so the anesthetic doesn't wash out as quickly and there is less bleeding. Use of epinephrine is avoided in older patients and those with heart conditions
