A member asked:

Could 4cm hiatal hernia cause my issues?egd stomach biopsy showed erosion in the background of mild reactive gastropathy with no evidence of h pylori. burping, belly pain/bloating,shortness of breath, feel burp stuck in throat.ppi's did not help at all?

Do you know whether the hiatal hernia is stuck in the chest? If so it could be quite symptomatic. Does your gastroenterologist think that stomach erosion is more likely to be the cause of your symptoms? If so, avoid caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, aspirin & meds like ibuprofen or naproxen, and take the maximum dose of the PPI. A thoracic surgeon can give you advice about your hiatal hernia.
