Probable mucocele.: It is possible to break a blood vessel, but I would expect skin color changes. Just the trauma of a bite of a mucocele can cause pain. Check with your PCP for further care.

Probably mucocele: Based on your description and physical history, it's a mucocele. But that can only be affirmed with physical examination. It's probably not the mucocele that hurts, it's the traumatic injury. Please do not think that your 10 minute internet search is the equivalent of a 10,000 hour Dental Education. See your Dentist. Referral to an Oral Surgeon may be prudent.
