A member asked:

I had an ovarian cyst in october, 2cm & ovarian volume 18 ml. my healthy ovary without the cyst had a volume of 11ml. in january, the cyst was 4 cm x 6.3 cm & my ovarian volume 57 ml. my healthy ovarian volume still 11 ml. what would you do as a doc?

Ovarian cysts are common, and unless the ultrasound report included a comment about "complex" findings, it may not require a biopsy. Ask your GYN physician about low dose oral contraceptives, which will diminish the frequency of cyst formation.
