Almost always benign: 25th is only one week away & urologist can accurately evaluate hydronephrosis whereas NP can not. NP will then refer you to urologist. Mild hydronephrosis is very common incidental finding on abdominal ultrsound & does not cause rib pain. Flank pain with hydronephrosis is associated with outflow blockage of kidney or kidney stone. Please relax & be reassured by urologist next week.
