I have been having back pain under my ribs and one day severe spasms - went for ct scan and it showed a 3 cm cyst in my kidney??? should i see a urologist for this. my family doctor doesn't think this should cause pain?

He/ she is right. The cyst is an incidental finding and at that measurement should cause no symptoms. Hope the cause of your pain is found and treated. Good luck
