Here are some...: Kidney removal is a major undertaking which a urologist would not recommend lightly. In general, if the concerned kidney contributes less than 5-10% of total renal function, it is reasonable to remove it. But the question is when to do it. If you're asymptomatic from this kidney, you may wait & see since prophylactic procedure poses a degree of debate. So, ask doc for necessities & possibilities.
