My uncle has dementia, but has stolen naproxen from a locked pill dispenser. i found this on a security camera. i took him to doctors and the hospital. i explained that they should keep for a safety evaluation, a 51/50. they refused. i need help?

Primary care doc: Somewhat common as behavioral changes are notorious in patients with dementia. Best would be to get his primary care doc or geriatrician involved, having a clear algorithm for treating pain ( likely reason for why he used naproxen), activating all possible home care services as well, even using private hires if possible. Difficult situation as home help is hard to find.

Couple comments: For safety purposes, suggest finding long-term nursing facility where supervision can be achieved. At very least, if this not feasible, contact Visiting Nursing Service, who will make home calls periodically and guide safety measures,
